The Trailblazery

Trailblaze
_

1. to blaze a trail through (a forest, wilderness, or the like) for others to follow.

2. to be a pioneer in (a particular subject, technique, etc.).

-

The Trailblazery is a creative platform dedicated to exploring our shared human beingness. We make cultural experiences + creative projects that ask big questions about being alive in the world right now. We host conversations that inspire new connections and join the dots between people, potential and possibility. We activate creative and socially engaged ideas on the island of Ireland and beyond. We shine a light on people who are nudging humanity forward one story at a time.

The Trailblazery first took flight as a creative gathering for people who blaze trails in their own spectacular or intimate way. Since our inaugural event at The Office of Non- Compliance in 2011 we have gathered a collection of provocative and inspiring narratives from thousands of people. We are passionate about creating and curating experiences that amplify the power of these stories to shape our lives. Our audiences flock from all walks of life.

We celebrate the spirit of people who rock the boat, turn the tide and challenge the status quo. We have taken The Trailblazery on tour around Ireland, inhabiting abandoned buildings, historic landmark venues, prisons, courthouses, churches, fields and forgotten spaces. We have made magical collaborations with Galway Arts Festival, Body & Soul, Cork Midsummer Festival, Dublin Fringe Festival, Dublin City Council, Fáilte Ireland, UNESCO, The Arts Council, Creative Ireland, The OPW, RTÉ and The Washington Post.

We have commissioned and produced a portfolio of pioneering cultural projects that capture the lives and stories of hundreds of inspirational trailblazers including Rites of Passage, We Need to Talk about Ireland, Resolution and Saoirse | Freedom live at Kilmainham Gaol . In 2016 we hosted Census of the Heart - an alternative census that places the human experience at the heart of the matter asking not just who we are as a nation but how we are as a nation.
