A letter to The Trailblazery from the President of Ireland, Michael D Higgins

Dear Friends

Something happened yesterday completely out of the blue that inspired a flurry of excitement and celebration at The Trailblazery HQ. And I want to take the time to presence and share it here with all of our community who have walked this path with us for the past 9 years.

I am full of delight and joy to announce that we have received an powerful and inspirational letter of support and recommendation from the President of Ireland, Michael D Higgins.

He has issued congratulations on our work and mission at The Trailblazery and most recently the Hedge School. He illuminated the importance of all of us dreaming and realising a new kind of world citizenship. He celebrates

“the spirit that lies at the heart of The Trailblazery and the values it actively works to create and support in our society are those which define good citizenship”

He emphasises the importance of crafting

“a more ethical and just world …founded on articulation and action by concerned citizens who not only visualise a democratic society but make a case for it and support its realisation”

Hedge School was born in a time of great transition – a time of radical disruption that challenges the future of our shared humanity. We felt a call to do something that would inspire us to take better care of ourselves, each other and this place called home.

We decided to answer this call and respond to this crucible moment with Hedge School - a home school that taps into a universal need for connection, belonging and hope.

And now, as we prepare to open our Winter Spiral ‘ Remembering our way Home” we feel encouraged and inspired to keep on going.

As we prepare to celebrate a decade at The Trailblazery in 2021 we want to mark this crucible moment as a clarion call to gathering together as global citizens and

“questioning the kind of world we inhabit and the future we wish to create together”

We look forward to welcoming you to our next adventure at the Hedge School.

We are the ones we have been waiting for.
