The Trailblazery was founded in 2011 as a cultural agency dedicated to creatively activating the spirit of our times so that we can take better care of ourselves, of each other and of this place we call home. We are passionate about serving our audiences, community, and our world as ancestors-in-training.

At its heart, The Trailblazery is about human connection. We champion people who blaze trails and nudge humanity forward. We join the dots that exist at the cultural intersection of activism, community, creative imagination, leadership, human development, systemic change and collective wellbeing.

We design and produce live events, learning experiences and collaborative cross-disciplinary projects that tackle wicked problem solving. We offer a range of creative mentorship services for people who want to ignite and blaze a trail in the world. We have a proven track record of successfully challenging public engagement through the delivery of immersive meaningful experiences and innovative design practices, on and offline. Digital Content Officer 

(Part-time role at The Trailblazery)

The Trailblazery is looking for a Digital Content Officer to create content for and engage our audiences across all platforms. The successful candidate will have the experience, instincts and practical skills to generate content that will expand our audience while staying true to our ethos. 

We’re looking for someone who has experience growing traffic, is skilled in the world of social media and has experience creating custom content for established brands.

Who you are

  • You're an experienced content creator who is passionate about digital media and branded content. 

  • You have implemented and coordinated paid social campaigns 

  • You have a minimum of 2 years experience in content creation and digital marketing 

  • You have proven experience in generating and engaging online audiences and working as part of a team

  • You have experience using content creation tools and are familiar with creating content in adherence with brand guidelines

  • You understand how to grow and engage a digital following, how to use analytics, insights and data in decision making and how to manage social profiles.


    Required

  • A strong awareness of The Trailblazery brand and output and an interest in using your creative ideas to create content relevant to our audience in line with our ethos

  • Experience in editing video, audio and images to produce short form content 

  • Experience in copy editing: you have an eye for detail and can edit swiftly for online, ensuring a smooth reader journey on-site and on social media.

  • Experience in creating assets and graphics for use across social media platforms 

  • Experience in adhering to content calendars and awareness of timeframes for creating content 

  • Experience in adhering to brand guidelines and social editorial policies 

  • Experience in using data to inform decision making - either by accessing and understanding insights and Google Analytics, or responding to data and insights presented to you

Desirable

  • Systems: Knowledge of SquareSpace, SEO, Mailchimp and digital media best practices. 

  • Proficiency in GSuite, YouTube, Vimeo, Zoom, Linktree  etc. 

  • Social Media: Experience designing social media strategies; building site traffic via social; experience using social scheduling software (Hootsuite)

  • Creative: You have ideas for developing new audiences and improving the customer journey online

What you’ll do

  • You will be the Digital Content Officer, ensuring The Trailblazery is an engaging space for people to access premium content. You will work with the Creative Director and our Project Manager and other creative team members to champion The Trailblazery.  

  • You will commit between 10 and 15 hours per week to this role, ideally spread across the week. 

  • You will monitor the website, social and email analytics to provide regular reports and support the leadership, client services teams at The Trailblazery. 

  • You will monitor  growth in traffic and engagement on site and social, working with the Social Media Manager and create content based on existing brand guidelines, and in tandem with a graphic designer. 

  • You will ensure we deliver across our key communications pillars and portfolios.

  • You will collaborate with our team to implement engagement plans and strategies to increase reach and impact for major projects, including events. 

  • You will support engagement initiatives and maintain projects that involve reader-driven or responsive content.

    This position is virtual, meaning you get to work from wherever you want! You get to choose your own hours (we do have deadlines for content release but within that, it's up to you as to when you work!) It'll be about 10-15 hours per week.

    You must be proactive and have a proven track record of working independently from home. Of course we have amazing team meetings and collaborate on things, but the majority of your time will be spent working on your own.
