⋮ Women uplifting women around the world ⋮
Calling all women - the world needs our medicine.
Our hearts are broken as we sense into the collective trauma that is happening on our watch, on our planet today. Like you, we have often felt helpless and hopeless. Like you, we have wondered how to show up and make a difference. Like you, we have wondered how to take the right action and be of service.
One thing we have discovered through our global Moon Medicine community is that when women gather together to support and uplift each other, incredible things happen. In 2021,we created a free event called The Sunday Service, a donation based drop-in wellbeing space created by and for women. Together, with you our community, we raised over €10,000 for women and girls in Afghanistan. This year we are joining forces with Imelda May and Áine Tyrrell to raise much needed funds for Sisi, a service to support women survivors of intimate abuse in Ireland so they can can share their truths and collectively raise each other up.
We will gather at the darkest time as the Northern Hemisphere reaches the nadir. The Winter Solstice (“Grianstad an Gheimhridh”) is one of the power gates of the Wheel of the Year. Solstice means ‘standstill’ and refers to the three days around December 21st when the sun appears to ‘stand still’ - the still point of the turning world. This is the dark before the dawn, when new light is born out of the womb of winter. This is a time where we can gather together in support and solidarity for our sisters in Ireland who have experienced intimate abuse in their lives.
