Scoil Scairte is an award-winning cultural learning experience that weaves language, heritage, creativity, indigenous wisdom and kinship with individual, social and ecological wellbeing. More than an Irish class, Scoil Scairte is an immersion into the psyche and soul of a powerful language, culture, people and place and is made in collaboration with Manchán Magan (Writer, Presenter, Bee Keeper, Documentary-Maker) whose extraordinary bestselling book Thirty Two Words for Field has sparked a huge wave of grá (love) for our native language.

Scoil Scairte founder Kathy Scott says, “Something is rising. The tides are starting to turn. While Ireland is experiencing a cultural watershed moment we are witnessing a ground swell of reconnection with our ancestral language, practices and ways of seeing the world. People are realizing that our mother tongue is a cultural treasure.”

Join our Scoil Scairte faculty Kathy Scott (Host, Creative Director of The Trailblazery), Manchán Magan (Writer, Presenter, Bee Keeper, Documentary-Maker) and Mairéad Ní Chonghaile (Presenter, Actor, Múinteoir) with special guests Brendan Courtney (Presenter, Designer, Host of Any News? Podcast), David O’Reilly (Actor, Host of Any News? Podcast) and Clare Sands (Singer, Songwriter, Multi-Instrumentalist, Composer).

This free gathering also offers an opportunity to discover, taste and experience our Scoil Scairte self-paced edition now available at thetrailblazery.com. Our self-paced edition gives lifetime access to 22+ hours of content celebrating the very best of Irish language, heritage and culture and offers a pathway to dive into the Irish language at your own pace, in your own time, anywhere in the world.

 MORE ABOUT HEDGE SCHOOL

Hedge School is a virtual homeschool rooted in Ireland that invites people around the world on a collective learning experience to find our shared humanity and resource our possibility as global citizens. Hedge School is an Irish drum beat with a global resonance. Back in the 1700’s, Irish education was outlawed and the process of learning took to the land. Hedge Schools gathered wherever people could find shelter; along hedgerows, fields, mountains, by rivers and under the stars. Out at these wild edges, our culture was kept alive...
